TT 2010 - GOING OVER
TT 2010 - Sunday 30th May - Day 02 - Weather very good in Reading so after completing my packing I set out at 11.30 am to drive the 215 miles up to the Pier Head in Liverpool
I stop for a break after 70 miles but then press on, arriving in Liverpool at 3.00pm and book in. I pop into the Crowne Plaza Hotel for a coffee but there are three wedding receptions on. It is quite comical to see how much confusion there is with people trying to find the reception they are supposed to be attending. I meet John from Laxey in the foyer and we have a chat since our mutual friend is Bill Snelling.
I then return to the car to be told |I can go down the ramp and on board. I then realise our sailing is at 6.15pm not later. I will be in Douglas at 9.30pm !!!
Lovely smooth crossing during which I have a Chicken Korma with rice and a bottle of Strawberry Milk Shake.
The Island suddenly appears and in no time we are docked in the harbour. I drive off when allowed, go to the top of Bray Hill via the Prom and Broadway then proceed to my residence at Braddan for two weeks. A welcome cup of tea is waiting for me, we chat then I tumble into bed and crash out.....Hurrah - I'm back on the Island !!!
