UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE TO RETURN HOME

I woke at 4AM to have a shower, some tea and toast and to complete the loading up of the car (I did in fact leave my spare specs on the bedroom windowsill) I left my Isle of Man Residence at 5.30AM to catch the 7AM Friday ferry to Heysham. An eleventh hour clearance by my consultant to come to the TT had caused me a minor problem with the return booking. As always, I had booked to GO to the Isle of Man but left it very late to book the return journey. As a cnosequence, I had to take a ferry which not only went to Heysham, 70 miles north of Liverpool but also the only ferry I could get on with my car was early Friday morning---I would miss the Senior !!

When I arrived at the dockside there were many bikes going back but not too many cars or vans.

WE DRIVE UP THE RAMP ONTO THE FERRY AND IT SAILS JUST AFTER 7AM

In the meantime the Final Day of TT 2010 gets under way in good weather.

We all now know the story as it unfolded, the crash that stopped the race after two laps and the re-run over only four laps.

We all saw and/or heard history made as Ian Hutchinson won his FIFTH TT 2010 race. A record that may never be beaten (unless he takes up sidecar racing !)

Jenny Tinmouth ups her personal best lap to just under 120 mph !!!
