HONDA 1959 - 2009

50 years ago, a small group of Japanese motorcyclists came to the Isle of Man with a batch of twin cylinder 125cc bikes which they entered in the Ultra Lightweight TT which was in those days was held on a smaller 10.79 mile circuit situated round the Clypse Beg (Reservoir)

Most people sniggered when they saw these basic machines, mainly because they resembled the N.S.U. in layout.

"Not a chance !" was the general opinion but this team were awarded the Manufacturers Team Prize and only just behind the works MV Agustas.

In 1960 Honda returned with 125cc Twins and 250cc fours and began to dominate motorcycle racing.

2009 is the 50th anniversary of the appearance of Honda.

So much has happened since !!!!
